Versailles! How fun...I'll go someday...oh yes...I will....
I know how you feel! I got the itch to find out more about the life of Marie Antoinette too...
This is a non-fiction biography that seems well balanced and very readable:

Marie Antoinette: The Last Queen of France by Evelyne Lever

I found the historical fiction: The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette: A Novel by Carolly Erickson (This I haven't read yet but it has been on my ever growing list for a while) Interesting is that Carolly Erickson also wrote a non-fiction biography (To the Scaffold: The Life of Marie Antoinette). I think it would be fun to read side by side :-)

Hi everyone

I absolutely loved Versailles palace when I went to Paris on my honemoon so i decided to watch the recent film featuring Kirsten Dunst. Of course I'm now inspired to seek out some good novels about her.

I have just found 'The Mirror Makers' by Clare Colvin at the library (it's about the court of Louis XIV - I"ll let you know if it's any good), but I can't find any based in Marie Antoinette's era so far...

any recommnedations would be appreciated :-)

thanks!!!
