300?

Anybody see this yet? How historic is it, considering that it takes advantage of Herodotus, who, to me was a bit like the ancient Greek National Enquirer? I hear they did a pretty good job doing the Spartan code of honor, etc. Granted it is based on a comic book visually, with monsters, etc., but the previews look fun.

I thought it was great.....and it was based on the comic book, which I own.

It's the Battle of Thermopylae and the events leading up to it from Leonidas of Sparta's perspective...

Visually beautiful.....it's like a comicbook on film...if you like that.

Is it historical?....well...it does borrow quotes and scenes from Herodetus' telling of this event....

I'm sure it's become a bit mythologized along the way.....

I finally went and saw it last night. I WAS great! Yes, a bit larger than life, but gorgeous to watch. Definitely worth the price of admission!
